Parks & Recreations

There are two indoor facilities offered: Recreation Center at Hillside and The Northville Community Center. There are also twelve park facilities between the City and Township of Northville. Their mission is “to provide opportunities for the community to enjoy recreational activities using existing resources and to plan strategically for future needs…”

Centers:

Recreation Center at Hillside is located at 700 W. Baseline. This center offers an indoor swimming pool with lap lanes, two full-sized gymnasiums, multiple multi-purpose classrooms and fitness rooms.

Northville Community Center is located at 303 W. Main Street. This center offers banquet rooms and kitchens, a living room with a fire-place, multi-purpose meeting rooms and a gymnasium with bleachers.

Parks & Recreations:

Cabbagetown Park is located at Baseline and Carpenter Street. It is a one-acre park, that provides picnic benches, and playground equipment surrounded by a historical neighborhood.

Northville Community Park is located at 15801 Beck Road. It is the largest park in the system. It is a 119 acre park. It includes 3 lighted ball diamonds, 11 soccer fields, 1 lacrosse field, a play structure, a picnic shelter, dog park, 2 restrooms and a concession facility.

Fish Hatchery Park is located at 641 Fairbrook. It is a 17-acre neighborhood park. It was once nationally a registered fish hatchery facility. THe park offers 2 ball diamonds, 5 tennis courts, picnic pavilion with grills, play structure, pond, nature trail and has access to Johnson Creek and a tributary of the Middle Rouge River.

Ford Field Park is located at 151 N. Griswold. It is within walking distance from downtown Northville. Ford Field is a 6-acre park that includes a lighted ball diamond, playground, 1/4 mile asphalt path, picnic tables and areas for gatherings and events.

Henningsen Park is located at 41600 Six Mile Road. It is a 3-acre park that is located behind the Northville TOwnship Police Department on Six Mile Road. It offers residents 2 ball diamonds.

Millennium Park is located at 45769 Six Mile Road. It is a 34-acres facility that offers 4 ball diamonds, 4 soccer fields, 2 play structures, an asphalt path, concession stand, restrooms and a picnic pavilion with grills.

Sheldon Road Park is located on the east side of Sheldon Road. It is between Five and Six Mile Road. This park offers a play structure and benches.

Thayer Corners Nature Area is located at Napier Road. It is the site of a historic barn that was relocated from Sheldon Road. The park offers community gardens, walking paths and horse trails.

Northville also offers the Veteran’s Memorial at Waterford Woods, Coldwater Springs Nature Area, Mill Race Village and the Cady Street Dog Park which is located at 215 W. Cady Street, behind the Northville Art House.
